29 April - before I left Darwin

When I visited the tremendous Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory the other day, I had a slight technical/brain failure in that the battery for my camera was not actually in place after I'd re-charged it. So I decided to return to take some pictures. Didn't get lost this time and took some great snaps. they're in the Drop Box thing. I haven't posted any of the aboriginal art as I don't think it's the right thing to do. However, there are some great pictures of crabs from the river bed nearby! Hundreds of holes in the ground are home to these little crabs. There were also mudskippers and I caught them too.

In the evening, I had decided to go to the Deckchair Cinema to see "Railway Man" which people had said was good. But it started to rain on the way there, and I stood outside the place waiting for things to improve. They did slightly because there was a huge number of bats flying around for me to watch. However, I finally gave up on the idea of sitting in the wet and turned to head back to the YHA at which point the weather changed and it stopped raining.  Grrr. I had packing and farewells to do anyway and I saved $16.

I enjoyed Darwin. There's lots to see and it is changing rapidly with huge amounts of development going on. If only they could sort out the weather ;-)
