Day 17 Goodbye Ghan, hello Adelaide

May 2nd and it was raining. Again. I've never seen so much rain in Australia before! At breakfast the waitress said "Last to bed and first up, hey?". That's not good when the staff notice these things....

So I packed up my belongings, ready to vacate my little cabin. And returned to the lounge. Of course. Jos, the Dutchman, seemed to have a pub quiz up his sleeve for those of us still enjoying the free liquids, and there were even prizes! A lapel pin of a camel (symbol of the Ghan) came my way for knowing where the kiwi fruit comes from. Honestly, these Aussies aren't that bright sometimes! From being on time when I retired to bed, the train arrived in Adelaide an hour and 10 minutes later than advertised. It was still raining and I dragged my cagoule from the depths of my rucsac for the first time.

Sarah met me and we spent a lovely afternoon catching up. Time to relax a bit after all that touristing and training.
